Customers said this hearing protection helps dogs with noise sensitivity during thunder, fireworks, and loud events. Many reported "it really works" and dogs stayed calm or slept through disturbances. However, some found sizing challenging with tight fits around necks, while others noted it didn't reduce noise enough for their pets. Training and proper sizing are essential.
- Within minutes of putting on the Ear Pro the trembling slowed and then stopped. Forever grateful!
- The fireworks are VERY loud outside, and he's sitting next to me snoring away. Highly recommend!
- Great products to keep your dog safe. 10/10

My SD helps me keep a more normal life by doing a lot of tasks with me that I otherwise would not be safe doing. I was concerned about the longevity of my dog B.O.L.O.'s hearing after reading an article written by a veterinary otologist that even sounds that aren't constant can damage a dog's hearing in the long term. So, I did my research and landed on the Ear Pro from Rex Specs, he already has the Specs to keep his eyes safe and I know Rex Specs has high quality equptment so I ordered the largest size since my Rottie has a big head. They work great! They stay on his head well, have straps to put his Specs straps through and keep his ears safe while walking next to me with the mower. I was worried the size 4 would be too tight but they seem to fit well. His head measures 22 inches, and he's 100 pounds and still growning. He was trained to use them by putting my hand through it with a treat, which was really no trouble for him as he is used to having all sorts of equptment put on. He doesn't mind his Specs at all either. Great products to keep your dog safe. As a dog trainer and retired vet tech, these would be great for dogs who are fearful of loud noises also. Remeber, they muffle the sound, they are not like noise cancelling headphones like for firearms. They would also be great for wearing during ear infection treatment to keep your dog when shaking it's head from causeing a hematoma. 10/10
Our 7 year old Aussie has always had a terrible time with the 4th of July and thunder. We used the Ear Pro during a very active thunderstorm and her reaction was calm. She was able to sleep through the storm which never would have happened without the ear protection. She doesn't mind wearing the ear protection.
I bought the Ear Pro for protection during the 4th of July fireworks. The Ear Pro size 4 didn't appear to make a difference. My dog still cringed and shook them off.
We have been trying drugs, driving into the country and many things. This year we added ear protection. It was not perfect but we got an extra 3 hours at home before we had to drive off into the farm land around us. I consider that a win! She did not have any trouble wearing it and actually settled down quite well until a particularly loud boom happened right next door. Unfortunately, that was it.
Purchased to allow our dog to come to an outdoor concert that my partner was playing. We did some test runs at home - she got a pup cup every time I put it on her... she did not really ever try to take it off, she was a little hesitant at first, but overall adapted to the headgear quickly.
We were able to use it during fireworks as well - she did not shake at all.
Concert experience was fantastic... she was able to sit outside with two drummers performing and had no problems at all!
She was between sizes, so the size 3 is a tiny bit too big for her, but we were able to use the velcro on the sides to tighten it back off her face with no problems.
My dog absolutely panics with loud booms from thunder and fireworks. And other general loud booms. She also struggles with general anxiety so we've been trying to find a plan for that and the panic but loud booms still seems to be a struggle for her. While the ear pro doesn't completely resolve the panic it does seem to drastically reduce the panic and it does seem to be more manageable for her. Would highly recommend.
This was the first year that Morty was able to relax during the multiple fireworks displays that happened on our street. My tip for using as a calming method rather than hearing protection - we have only ever put it on him when the scary noises are happening. I believe that helps him to understand that it makes the sky booms go away, an association that may not happen if we were to have him wear it when he is already relaxed.
We adopted the most incredible German Shepherd early in December 2025. He is a great dog and he is very reactive to loud exhaust from cars and bikes (we live on Western Long Island and close to a parkway that doubles as a the Darwin Award raceway) so he needs a lot of loving care. Our neighborhood on July 4 is a large scale 360° fireworks extravaganza, and we needed to take precautions to get him thru safely, and with as little medication as possible.
We have past working dog experience and was familiar with RexSpecs and it was our go to to help Tin Tin.
We got a large size 4 in black. He was acceptable to wearing it, we have been introducing him to it incremental stages.
He wore them from before sunset to 11pm ish.
He was scared, but not terrified.
Highly recommended
Four paws up🐕🦺🤙👍☮️
I bought the Ear Pro's in early June to get my lab used to them. Eased him into it & he was a bit resistant at first, but once the 4th of July fireworks noise started, he didn't mind at all. The fireworks are VERY loud outside, and he's sitting next to me snoring away. Highly recommend - so happy I bought these!
They work. My dog has a harder time hearing commands and the collar while wearing the Ear Pro. Extensive training is required but worth it. While they dont stay on very well during a coyote hunt where the dogs are running through the brush, they do ride well when running the shooting course, or at the range. I am confident that I am helping save my dogs ears.
A bit pricey but a quality product. I bought two for my two Belgian Malinois. They tolerate them so far but one really doesn’t like wearing it. Purchased in advance of July 4th fiireworks as they really don’t like the noise. They started with wearing about 10 minutes first and am up to about an hour now.
Perfect fit. Large dog with huge upright ears is not complaining about wearing his Ear Pro
I've had thunder/fireworks reactive dogs in the past, tried doping, essential pils, even bought a Thundershirt, nothing helped. My current dog freaked out over New Year's Eve fireworks, and a friend suggested I try the ear protector. This afternoon a severe storm came through, and with the first rumble I put the Ear Pro "muff" over my dog's head. He paced a little, came over for a brief nose rub, then LAID DOWN for the rest of the storm.
I am impressed!
I fly a piston aircraft and decided to make my 11-year-old dog my new copilot. He is an Australian Cataldog. With only one hour of ground training and lots of treats, we were off to the airport. My old pup never been in an airplane althow he travels well in the luxury SUV. We put on the Rex Ear Pro for Dogs, size 3, and taxied to the fuel pit. In that short time, my copilot has decided to remove the muffs. He quickly realized that life is better with Rex ear muffs. After slipping the muffs back on, the remainder of the long 3-hour flight was uneventfull and the muffs stayed on. After debriefing with my pu,p he really enjoyed the large space cavity provided by the Rex Muffs. He told me how well his floppy ears fit nicely inside and did not feel crampy. He felt so happy that he slept on my wife hand bag.
Got my dog size 3 for her 16.5” head. It fits well. Hope there will be more size options for small dogs.
There's a problem. I understand it might not be your fault, but the courier service you sent it to lost my package.
We've been waiting a month for delivery, and it's still not here!
The package was sent to a logistics warehouse (Nova Poshta), from where it's being shipped to us in Ukraine. (((
Our friend didn't receive his headphones for New Year's... that's terrible.
Fits great . Slides right on. Seems well made. Got it for my service dog to use at like movies
First day in 2026. This last night, one of my dogs wore the Ear Pros to keep her anxiety of fireworks down. The last years, she was highly medicated for those events. This year, 1 pill and the Ear Pros were enough. She slept like a baby . Highly recommended!
