Customers praised this leash's versatility for hiking, camping, and hands-free walking. "Best leash ever" with dual snaps and multiple loops for adjustable length. Praised for durability and lightweight design. Some concerns about heavy carabiners being stiff to operate, webbing feeling rough on skin, and quality issues with loose clasps.
- The practicality of this leash for hiking, backpacking, and camping is just excellent.
- BEST LEASH EVER - works great to let me use my wheelchair without always having a leash in hand
- By far the most perfect leash - I can attach treat bag, poop bags, water bowl, and my keys to it!

Love this leash. It’s so functional. Tie the dog to you (cross chest or around waist), to a tree, to an ATV with the Rex Specs Harness. Used it in rugged backcountry this weekend and both leash and harness were perfect to manage the dog and pickthe dog up to get over boulders. Highly recommend. one grip is that one of the 2 leashes I have has a snap that is very stiff and kind of hard to use.
This leash is amazing. I love the options on how to use it. Lately I’ve leashed both dogs and held it in the middle but when we go on long hikes I like to go hands free and each dog has their own leash.
I am training my new Service Dog and I use this leash in a cross body sling style so that I can be hands free. The leash performs flawlessly and is easily adjustable.
I highly recommend this leash
This leash is exactly what I've been looking for. My girlfriend and I are backpackers and we each have a dog. Clips on both ends and loops along the entire length make for lots of different possibilities for one or two dogs. I like to clip a bungee leash to the middle loop and a dog on either end, then use a caribeaner to keep the dogs close but not too close.
I give it a four star because it feels kind of cheap and it is made in China. The clips are heavy but the buttons with the springs feel a bit loose. Not as secure as I like. I am a dog walker so I hope this holds up! It's a great idea and I would definitely pay more for a higher quality
I absolutely love the Rex Trailhead Leash Dual Snap! This leash has truly made a difference in our daily walks. The dual snap feature and loops make the leash incredibly convenient, allowing for quick and easy adjustments when needed. It's clear that the leash is made with high-quality materials, ensuring durability and reliability.
One minor thing to note is that the nylon material can be a bit stiff, making it slightly challenging to hold with bare hands during longer walks. However, this doesn't detract from the overall functionality and sturdiness of the leash. I found that wearing gloves or looping the leash around my sleeve solves this issue perfectly.
Overall, I highly recommend the Rex Trailhead Leash Dual Snap for its fantastic design, durability, and ease of use. It's a great addition to any dog owner's collection!
My dog doesn't weigh a lot, but I imagine that dragging a heavier dog around (in process of training him, of course) would be no problem for this leash. With all the loops sewn from one end to the other, I have INNUMERABLE options for tying my little stuffed animal to my waist or to a tree or a fence or a table, leaving a lot or a little room for her to venture out. Apart from the hooks being very heavy (the two combined weigh as much as her head), this leash is exactly what I was looking for.
Unfortunately. I am handicapped. This leash made a world of difference training when I can only use one hand.
I love the versatility of being able to use it as a standard hand loop and also being able to wear it hands-free. The amount of combinations are endless. The quality is top notch. The price point is perfect.
We love this leash! The ability to go hands free is so convenient, the loops down one whole side of the leash are so helpful, and the length and quality of the product is exceptional.
Perfect leash also for multiple dogs!
Very happy about the weight and versatility of these leashes (with 4 big dogs, it can be a challenge but with these light but strong leashes, it’s perfect!). And the colours match with the Goggles 😉
This leash is fantastic! I love that it’s lightweight and doesn’t ‘bounce’ all over the place when I’m walking my dog. I also love that you can wear it multiple ways to be hands free! I’ve purchased many leashes and this is by far my most favorite! (my dog is a 23lb corgi)
Great lead to walk my 70 pound German Shepherd boy! Great for training, Can use many ways, I usually like it around my waist but my daughter likes it over her shoulder.
I originally bought this as a method to walk me and my fiance's dogs on the same leash. It's worked wonderfully for that. After losing my Ruffwear leash on a trip to the Tetons, I decided to use this leash instead of buying a new one, and it's far exceeded my expectations as a daily driver. The practicality of this leash for hiking, backpacking, and camping is just excellent. Despite my love for all things Ruffwear, I have to say that the quickness of a clip compared compared to adjusting a webbing belt is the gold standard for hiking with a dog. Going from around the waist, to around a tree, to making a loop for a more traditional hand held leash is seamless and quick. Adding a bungee extension with this leash around the waist is just the right length in my opinion. Longer than a standard 6ft, but also not excessively long to tangle up my pup's feet every 10 steps. The price is also extremely reasonable. I had some qualms with the small stitching in the daisy chain taking the brunt of the pulling force, but they show little to no wear after two seasons of above average use in the mountains in and around Denver. This leash has become a staple and a must have for my every day kit!
We fish, camp, go to the park, and go to stock car races. We have 5 dogs and sometimes its hard to find a place to tether a dog when you need a free hand. Having 2 snaps and multiple loops along the leash make it so much easier to tether a dog in a hurry for their safety. Also when you have 5 dogs, being able to quickly loop the leash around you for a hands free option plus the loops around the leash to snap another dog on is amazing. The versatility of these leashes makes them our go to leash any time we are heading out for an adventure in the great outdoors.
I think all leashes should be made this way. I don’t know why anyone would want to use any other leash, this one is so versatile.
I had one previously like this and lost it, I was seriously heartbroken. I tried several other types only to have them fail continuously time after time. Then I found this brand and ordered two. Made end up ordering more just to have them in case I lose one again.
I was surprised that the clasp (D ring I guess it is called) seemed loose. I have had other leashes come unhooked and I have a small dog that is not exerting a ton of force. I tried Rex specs since it is for athletic dogs I would think the clasp would be stronger. Not sure if it is maybe a defect in the leash that was sent to me. I am afraid to try it incase it disconnects.
If you are looking for a tough leash that is adjustable for almost any situation, this is it. They are long enough to fit a variety of body types and snaps are heavy duty have a smooth action. I purchased 2 to try them out then bought 6 more to have on hand for clients.
Bought 2 of these leashes on sale and like the option of walking two dogs on one leash or using the leashes for around-the-waist walking of a single dog.
While I like the design of the leashes (double carabiners + hook-on webbing) the carabiners are very heavy and very difficult to pull open, literally creaking and groaning as you slide the trigger into the open position. Both leashes do this on both carabiners, so this can't be a random manufacturer defect.
The webbing feels very thin and very rigid, scraping the hands as you hold them or cutting into the skin around the waist.
While the lightness is a plus, the rough thin feel of the leash just speaks of poor material quality.
I expected a lot more from a brand that sells specialized dog equipment.
I love using this leash as a hands free option for my service dog in training. It’s not just great for day to day activities, but it’s also great for hiking/camping.
Not as rugged as it looks in ads and pictures. I have a big dog and i dont trust this leash. Game it to my friend with a smaller dog
Added comment: I asked but RexSpecs could not make the leash with lighter weight snap rings. It is still a very useful leash.
