Zak and Maia have built the kind of partnership that most people only read about. In the winter they work avalanche rescue together at Keystone Ski Patrol, which means they are operating in some of the most demanding conditions imaginable, trusting each other completely and relying on that trust to bring people home safely. When the season ends and the mountain quiets down, Maia doesn't exactly take a break. Her father was a dock jumping champion and she inherited every bit of that energy, so summers are spent on boats and rivers.
