We have used these twice for our labradors. They totally muffled the sound great for thunderstorms or concerts as well as hanging out near the shooting range. Anywhere that sounds could be very loud and will be damaging to your dogs ears.
My dog can still hear me when I give commands in a normal talking voice and it did not matter if she had them on or off while shooting around her. She can still hear fireworks outside as well.

Our airplanes are noisy and our previous Golden Retriever did not tolerate brand X so we gave Ear Pro a try. After engine start we slipped them on and she appeared to notice the difference, so much so that she lays down and naps till we land.
We think a wide band of Velcro along the bottom would improve the process of going on/off plus allow a little adjustment for fit. Well made, good product!
It goes without saying that Rex Specs products are top quality. With this ear protection and the V2 Goggles, my baby Ruby can now hit the road with me on my hog. Nothing is better than being able to bring my best friend and knowing that she is safe.
