Ear Pro for Dogs

Star is a 12-year old greyhound with a terrible sensitivity to loud noises like lightening and fireworks. Each 4th of July and New Year's Eve, I take her to a friend's home where she will stay for a few days to avoid the loud and ongoing fireworks in my neighborhood. If she does stay at home, she is medicated and, even with the meds, she paces and drools and pants for hours. So, after reading about Rex Specs Ear Pros, I figured we could try this since Thunder Shirts, Happy Hoodies, blaring TV/music, and even meds were not doing the trick. So, this past July 4th we stayed home and tried our new Ear Pros. I couldn't believe what I was seeing. She was sleeping, she was calm with no panting or pacing, she wasn't medicated and she even went outside to potty as fireworks were being shot on the street behind me. I was shocked. While I can't say that the Ear Pros completely eliminated any noise, they obviously eliminated enough for her to actually be comfortable and sleep. I would highly recommend this product and they were a game changer for us. You have to order the correct size - I measured 3 times since I thought the size would be too small, but it wasn't. Expect a snug fit, but I didn't see any discomfort from this. Also, the ear area was perfect for her ears and was very dense foam that is concaved so the ears fit snugly inside the foam, and I think the compression of the hoodie also helps. I think I can say that I won't have to start stressing weeks before a holiday since we had such a good experience on our first try with these.

Both of my dogs breathing got laborious upon wearing the ear covers. It's really tight around their necks to the point they stretch out their heads to relieve the pressure and try to get them off immediately. I measured by the website's instructions. My smaller dog's head was just below 15", so I got a 2, and a 3 for my bigger dog. Even though my larger dog's head measurement was at the midpoint, the ear covers were both too loose and too tight. She would shake her head and it would twist around, but she still couldn't breathe that well, and no matter how i shifted it, her eyes were bulging in it. Also, they could both still hear perfectly. And to top it off, when i emailed the company to try to go up a size for my smaller dog, because that's what it said I could do in the letter in the box, I got NO RESPONSE! BAD PRODUCT! BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! A good product of this price should have more ability to adjust to fit better. Velcro straps to tighten and loosen isn't that hard a concept! A waste of $200!!! I'm pissed I'm just out that money now!

I knew based on reviews and my service dog's profile, his gear would need modification from his short snout and so I measured his short neck and snout, broke the threads from below and rethreaded for him to size and it worked perfectly. He didn't like wearing it at first but when he got out and heard such loud music, he didn't object when I put back on and he didn't try again to remove his earmuffs. Thank you for these to protect his hearing and allowing me to be able to go to my friend's concerts!

I’m now able to attend events with loud noises again and know my service dog’s hearing is protected! Thank you Rex Specs/Weaver brands for all the great customer support.

At first the golden wasn't so sure. But then we had fireworks going off to celebrate the 27th of July and he pointed right at these. He loves the earpro and demands it at the first clap of thunder. And ofc his fashion is indisputable.
