This product is hands down the best and most comfortable product available for protecting my pup. The fit, comfort and ease of using it is superior to anything I have ever used. Thanks for making a great product!
Not sure how there are so many positive reviews as these did not work at all for my 46lb labrador. I purchased the size 3 as her head circumference is 17" at its largest point, however the Ear Pro put A LOT of pressure on her throat causing her to choke when taking small treats, and concern for damage to her larynx/trachea from the constant pressure. They also slip backwards on top, exposing the sclera of her eyes. I expect a larger size may decrease the pressure on her throat, however would cause more slipping backwards. They definitely seem to need some type of adjustment straps as dogs have such varying size and shape per breed. Furthermore they did not seem to dampen sound as my dog could still follow lightly voiced commands. I put them up to my own ears and did not find that it muffled sound much. With the Rex Spec goggles it took a little bit of time to condition her to them, but with Ear Pro she was actually whimpering to get them off - they seemed to actually be causing her discomfort, not just a conditioning issue. The video shows how they would slip backwards despite frequently adjusting it forward. Needless to say I returned them.
I never write product reviews, but I feel this product definitely deserves it! We purchased ear protection to take our Standard Poodle out to Glamis Sand Dunes for New Years Eve weekend. It can get really loud out there, but the fireworks and amount of vehicles is the greatest during this weekend. When they were shooting fireworks Buzz would bark and be scared out of his mind. After putting on his ear protection he could tolerate the noise. He wanted to be outside with me, but was no longer barking or hiding due to the noise. He did need to sleep with them on the night of New Years Eve due to fireworks lasting well into the night.
Things to note:
I measured him before purchasing. I felt the fit around this throat seemed pretty tight. I often wondered if it was too tight, but after wearing multiple times I think that’s the way it needs to fit.
He was not a fan of them at first. He didn’t fight me, but you could tell by the white showing in his eyes he wasn’t happy. I used a high value treat when putting them on. They just take time to get used to.
I was unsure how to put them over his floppy ears. At first I was fixing his ears and trying to make them flat while adjusting them, but he didn’t seem to like that. I found the most comfortable fit was to naturally allow his ears to go back and leave them alone. The tips of his ears would hang slightly out the bottom. He seemed to be the most content this way.
Overall I highly recommend this product. There is no doubt in our mind that they reduce noise to a tolerable amount. Now our Dune Dog can continue to go on adventures with us with the peace of mind that he is comfortable and safe.
Had Rex Specs for a couple years now for my sidecar riding dog. Just got the ear-pro and they work great too!!!
So the Ear Pro looks hilarious on our pug, because her face isn't quite long enough to stick out the end (this is the fault of pug anatomy, not the Ear Pro!). BUT it is the only ear protection we've found that will stay on her head at all (pug heads are complicated). We fly with her in our single-engine airplane, and the Ear Pro completely covers her ears and keeps her safe. Bonus is that she gives us a good laugh. Totally happy with them and would recommend!
