Pack Recap: Summer Ambassador Adventures

Pack Recap: Summer Ambassador Adventures

Summer is all about long days, wide-open trails, and soaking up every adventure with our four-legged companions. Our ambassadors and their dogs don’t sit still when the days get long; they chase the wild, dive headfirst into the unknown, and rack up the kind of adventures that leave you grinning ear to ear (and maybe a little sunburned). We asked a few of them to share their favorite summer 2025 adventures and the stories that made those moments unforgettable.

Chelsea & Luna

Adventure: Camping & Hiking (Solo Trip!)

Location: National Forest in Colorado

Why It's Their Favorite Adventure: This was one of my few solo trips with Luna this year. After a busy stretch of professional and personal obligations, it was so nice to head into the mountains together and do what I wanted on my own schedule. It was only a 1 night trip, but we got 2 big hikes in and it was a great reminder that a standard weekend can be enough. No need to wait for a long vacation to get out and enjoy life!

Top Moment: One of our hikes that weekend truly had it all - wildflowers galore, an epic waterfall, an old railroad, and mountaintop views. It was my favorite hike of the season by far!

Any Essential Gear?: Rex Specs V2 Goggles (Day 1 - Black, Day 2 - Coyote)

Pro Tip: I love nothing more than inspiring people to take solo trips with their dogs! If you're not used to doing things solo, start small... experiment with day outings first! From there, branch out to whatever you enjoy and feel most comfortable doing (Air BnB, reserved campgrounds, dispersed camping, etc).  Whatever your trip looks like, please take steps to stay safe! Always make sure someone knows your itinerary, have offline maps downloaded and bring a satellite communication device. Don't post where you're going on social media before or during your trip. Be mindful of wildlife, be prepared to administer human and dog first aid, and always leave no trace!

Kelcy & Khalee

Adventure: Hiking and Swimming

Location: Emigrant Wilderness, California

Why It's Their Favorite Adventure: After 20 weeks of recovery from TPLO surgery, Khalee was finally cleared for full activity, so we celebrated with a mountain trip. Seeing her back to herself—running through rivers and splashing in alpine lakes—was incredible. Water is her happy place, and with rocks and sticks in the mix, her Rex Specs kept her eyes safe so she could play worry-free.

Top Moment: Watching Khalee dive into the mountain lakes and sprint through the rivers—her pure joy after being cleared for full activity made every stressful week of recovery worth it.

Any Essential Gear?: Rex Specs V2 Goggles

Pro Tip: If your dog is bouncing back from recovery, build in rest breaks even on big adventures. Let them set the pace—it keeps the outing fun and stress-free for everyone.

Dakota, Mia, & Gus

Adventure: Any that involved water!

Location: Colorado

Why It's Their Favorite Adventure: My favorite part is just letting the dogs be dogs! Watching them do their own things and enjoying their freedom!

Top Moment: Mia loves actively playing and swimming in the water especially retrieving a bumper, while Gus just casually enjoys the bank sniffs and wading a bit to cool off! Occasionally he’ll get some zoomies and really swim around!

Any Essential Gear?: Both pups wear their Rex Specs Goggles; Mia for less water splashing into her eyes and Gus for the brush that he’s sniffing around in! And of course the UV rays that are super strong in Colorado.

Pro Tip: Sometimes the adventure doesn’t need to be hours away or a magical location. It can just be your local creek or park and the dogs love it no matter what!

Summer 2025 was one for the books. From solo treks into the mountains to long-awaited recovery hikes and afternoons by the water. Our ambassadors proved that adventure doesn’t always mean weeks away or epic expeditions—it can be a single hike, a quick weekend, or a splash in the creek. What matters most is getting out there. Here’s to every trail conquered, every swim enjoyed, and every moment shared. Summer may be winding down, but the adventures never stop.
